Private Sessions

Private sessions are available Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings. Initial visits last approximately one and one-half hours; return visits are usually one hour.  The first session includes a detailed discussion of medical history, a physical examination based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and a complete course of treatment.  In preparation:

• Please eat one to two hours prior to treatment, i.e., don’t come on an empty stomach.

• Please wear loose-fitting clothes if possible.

Community Sessions

Community Acupuncture is available all day Tuesdays and Fridays. We offer treatment on a walk-in basis - no appointment required.

Patients sit in comfortable recliners and receive the same quality of care as provided in a private session.  Fee:

• $25.00 - $45.00, sliding scale
  (the patient decides what he or she can best afford)

We suggest scheduling a private session before coming to community acupuncture. While most disorders can be treated in a group environment, some may require more complex diagnoses and treatments that would be better suited to a one-on-one treatment session.

Insurance

If you elect to have Gig Harbor Acupuncture bill insurance on your behalf, you will be responsible for your normal co-pay, co-insurance or deductible amount.

Co-pays are due at the time of service; co-insurance and deductible payments are due upon this office's receipt of the insurance portion of your bill and/or the insurance statement.

Gig Harbor Acupuncture is a preferred provider with the following insurers:

• Premera Blue Cross
• Regence Blue Shield
• First Choice (and First Choice affiliated plans)

This office bills primary insurance only.  Billing of secondary insurance is the responsibility of the patient.  Please note: if a claim is declined, you will be responsible for the entire billed amount of the claim.

Rates

The following charges include billing fees when you elect to have this office bill insurance:

• initial (one and one-half hours) -     $125
• follow-up (one hour) -     $85

For patients paying out of pocket, we offer the following rates when paid on the day of service:

• initial (one and one-half hours) -     $95
• follow-up (one hour) -     $65

For patients age 65 or over, we offer a further 15% discount on out-of-pocket rates.

Payment Method

We accept payment by cash, check or credit card (Visa and Mastercard).  There is a $25 penalty for a returned check, and only one occurrence is permitted.

Cancellation and Late Arrival Policy

If you are unable to keep your appointment for any reason, please call this office at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule. Otherwise you will be charged the full amount for the missed appointment. 

If you arrive 15 or more minutes late, your appointment will be canceled and you will be charged $25 for the appointment.
